Quick Week & Few Links|| Friday Finds || 11.14.14

 WEEKEND ||

My first favorite f word is ... fun! Haha can't fool you! What is new and good with all of you? I've gotten to play around with my essential oils as I conquer a cold, pack my mind full of information for my two tests today, and sneak in a dinner with a friend. I graduated with my kula last week! Wow. I had professional photos done, and they look amazing. I can't wait to save them, and put them up all over the place. This weekend I'll be working on an art project -- replicating a Van Gogh for class... yeah it's an adventure; binge watching tv thanks to this cold weather, my own cold, and a cozy bed; and I'm thinking this weekend needs to be restorative. Not much else to say today -- this week has been a lot of studying and very little anything else. I'm sure we all have those weeks.

Until Monday.. enjoy the quick links, loves.

How are you spending the weekend?

LINKS & FINDS ||

A riveting and compelling article written by Theo Padnos, an American journalist tortured and released in Syria. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Oh the woes of modern love... the NY Times has a column all about the ups and downs of romance.

A DIY fit for greeting guests at the door: Hello Beautiful!

It's never too late to add a little something extra to the table-- is there such a thing as too many sides during Thanksgiving?

Have a cozy, warm, and happy weekend. Explore, love, hope, and be yourself. Always.

Places No One Has Ever Been || 11.11.14

"The one who follows the crowd will usually get no further than the crowd. The one who walks alone is likely to find himself in places no one has ever been." ~Albert Einstein

Sometimes I read quotes and I realize that they are meant for me for another time in my life or for another person around me. This quote, however, feels fully intentioned for me as I contemplate my future, my choices, my life goals and purposes. It can be exhausting to get input from all those around you, and equally exhausting for ideas to bounce around in the mind without ever ceasing. I think sticking to our own choices, chosen only to better ourselves in the moments we are present, manifests a reality that is profound and fun and filled with laughter and love. Who doesn't want all of those things? I'd rather wind up somewhere extraordinary with me, myself, and I, than follow the tried and true path of a crowd, be they family, friends, or community. I refuse to believe that you either have to be alone or following the likes of others. Imagine if the crowd we choose to surround ourselves with was filled with wanderers, never without fascination or excitement, always encouraging self exploration and discovery? That would be truly lovely. And I believe it is possible that we can all find this. If not, let's enjoy our own company enough to cherish the moments we stand alone; enough to open our eyes when we journey into the unknown.

Do you discover the most when you are alone, with a group, or a mix of both?

I only have a moment here --

trying not to stress, just sending love and good vibes to the universe.

I love each and everyone one of you.

|| 5 Things I am Grateful for Today ||

The immense love of my Kula -- how blessed I am to have them surrounding me. Officially a Registered Yoga Teacher! Wow!

Free flowing water -- I will never take water so freely given for granted.

Friends who care and make bumping into them all the more fun.

A mom who even when exhausted sends more love and hope than any other person on the planet.

Manifestation -- because I was just wishing for something and a link popped up on my sidebar for my exact wish.

What are you grateful for today? Find at least 5 things! Let me know in the comments below if you'd like : - )
